Arts & Crafts St Sterling Silver Spot Hammered Teapot London 1910 Edward Barnard.
Offered here is a lovely and substantial hammered silver teapot by Edward Barnard & Sons. This is fully hallmarked for London 1910. The body, handle, and lid all have separate seta of marks. Even the nut that secures the screw off finial is marked. This is an item of the finest quality - evidenced by the profuse marks, exceptional craftsmanship of manufacture and impres...sive weight.
This is a very early example of Barnard's work, as the company registered their mark on 3rd March 1910
The teapot incorporates elements of both the Arts & Crafts (hammered finish) and the Art Nouveau style (sinuous lines of the handle and foliate attachment to body).
Silver handle is insulated
The interior of the pot is very tidy indeed, indicating light use during the past century.
