Antique Taylor Tycos Brass Gauge Thermometer 1908 To 1920s. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.14” tall x 2.5” wide x 15” deep. Believe this to be used in some sort of ductwork application. Not entirely sure. This is a long-stem instrument designed for industrial use. The brass V-shaped case is marked “Tycos” at top, and “Taylor / Instrument / Co.” at bottom. The black housing around the mercury-in-glass thermometer with a milk glass tube has a sc...ale from 0 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit, and is marked “Tycos / ROCHESTER / N.Y. U.S.A.”Hohmann & Maurer had been making instruments of this sort since the mid-1880s, and continued doing so after being bought out by Taylor Bros. in 1896. This example was made after 1908 when the Taylor Instrument Co. introduced the Tycos trade mark and dropped the Hohmann & Maurer signature and trade mark.Overall very good condition. Has some scrapes on sides. Really nice brass and cast iron gauge here. There’s a similar one in the Smithsonian!Thank you
