Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at an older Philmore M-18 model dual crystal microphone from the 1960's era complete with a period desk stand. This unique microphone was produced by a couple Japanese manufacturers including Aiwa and resembled (only in looks) the much higher quality R.C.A ribbon microphones made famous during the 1940's and 50's. This microphone utilizes a High Z dual crystal type elements that no longe...r work. Like many of these older crystal mics they are very much on the weak side or simply no longer work. This should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. As seen in the pictures provided this particular mic is very good physical condition being free of any fractures or corrosion. There is nothing loose inside or out. She's a real tight mic. You can always get the element replaced with something much nicer down the road as well if you don't care for the weaker crystal sound. There's plenty of room under the screens to work with. The metal screens are free of any dents and have a nice overall luster. There are almost no scratches on the bottom of the lower black plastic piece. The thumb screws tighten just as they should though. The original cable has been shortened to 7 inches and has a male 1/4 inch end connector attached. The cable is soft, pliable and free of damage. This pill mic model is appx 7 inches tall X 2 inches wide and it will screw onto any American vintage stand as the thread is the universal 5/8. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The mic comes with a 60's era painted desk stand that works well for this mic.. This stand is quite heavy for being smaller. It's solid metal with a short polished chrome finish. As seen in the pictures provided this desk stand has lite wear. The riser shows no wear. The mic even come with it's original rubber pads to keep the base from scratching any surface it may rest on. This desk stand with mic measures appx 8 1/2 inches tall X 4 inches wide. I'd give the M-18 a solid 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. As with all my vintage microphones...
