Stunning Vintage Bucherer Day Date Circa 1970s Rolex President Style Gold Watch
Item History & Price
Condition:The photos should give you a great sense of the excellent condition of this watch for being 5 decades old. There are light scuffs and dings on the case sides typical of a 5-10 year old watch, but no major gouges or damage that you may expect for a watch this age. The fluted bezel is almost perfect, I could not find a flaw worth mentioning. The crystal has a few marks in it, but they're hard to photograph and you can't see them unless the light hits them just right. The dial is perfect. The strap has a lifetime of wear left, and the gold-plated bracelet has only minor wear, almost all plating is in tact. The movement was recently checked out by a local watchmaker and he reported that it had been recently serviced and didn't need tweaking aside from a tightening of the rotor (which he took care of). I've timed the watch and it runs about -10 sec/day, which is pretty impressive for a watch this old. I've got new ETAs that keep the same time. The more I write the less I want to sell this watch...
Please feel free to make me an offer and this could be yours to enjoy for a lifetime. I know I'll regret it but my rough lifestyle requires tool watches and it's not fair for this to sit around in my watch box unused. Unfortunately no box and papers, but authenticity is not in question here. Good luck! *Update* I noticed 2 pitting spots on the crown today as I took some better photos. I have updated the price slightly for this. See last photo. Honestly I've never noticed them so for me it clearly wasn't a big deal!
