1907 Antique Coffee Grinder " OHIO MILL " Litho Tin Hopper RARE (Ever Seen It?)
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:609142 | Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
Original/Reproduction: Original |
NEW NOTE: Have added photos of lid removed from hopper and interior of the hopper. Note: The mill is NOT mint -- has some typical shelf wear, though the litho paint on the tin hopper is tight and would clean and polish from as shown, if desired. We have NOT cleaned the mill -- it is dusty from storage, but what looks to be the original black paint of the cast iron parts remain. The grinding mechanism works fine, the crank and original wooden knob is there -- but it appears that some small part (perhaps a catch holder?) may have been chipped off at some point (see close-up photos of area to the left of the catch hook device). IMPORTANT Note: The bright areas on the litho image of the hopper are from the flash camera -- there is very little, if any, paint loss on the litho tin hopper. Photo number 7 is of the patent date on grinder housing; photo 8 is the "No 40" on the inside of the cast iron crank; photo 9 is of where there may be a small chip in the cast iron of the grinder, to the left of the device to hold a catcher. Photo 10 is the back side of the plank of wood the mill is attached to (it would be very easy to remove three mounting screws, include the screws, but discard the wood for shipping. At buyer's request, we will remove the mill from the wood plank that it is mounted on for shipping. We will carefully pack to ensure safe delivery via USPS. IF you have background information about this mill, we'd be glad to hear from you. Thanks for looking.
