Wonderful early vintage figural alencon lace tablecloth and (13) matching linen and lace napkins set that was made in France in the early 20th century, most likely the first quarter, c. 1910 -20s; later La Belle Epoque / Edwardian era, through the Roaring Twenties / Art Deco period.
This grand tablecloth is a rare find. It features scenes of India, with beautiful palm trees and the Taj Mahal, etc; usually these were smaller pieces like table runners, but this is a grand ...144 inches long and comes with 13 napkins. This large formal dinner size tablecloth is a perfect combination of floral and foliage design more typically found with alencon lace, but with a harder to find scenic element that depicts India scenes and famous buildings, cathedrals, churches and other culturally important monuments
The thirteen large dinner size napkins are accented with a matching design.
The tablecloth retains the original cloth Made In France label. The set looks to be lightly used and I do see a two tiny threads broken as seen in the last photos that need very light repair and three napkins show some light water discoloration, however the set remains in amazingly good and clean vintage estate condition.
