Greenlight 1/24 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Indy Pace Car
Item History & Price
For the Corvette Pace Car fancier, 2007 was a banner year. The car, a C6 convertible done in a gorgeous copper color called Atomic Orange, was a sight to see. ...Chevrolet produced 500 replicas of the Pace Car, with all the interior and exterior finery of the real thing. On the modeling side, Franklin Mint did a replica of it, and so did Indianapolis' own Greenlight. In fact, Greenlight has done models of many Pace Cars nobody else did, and at the price they were sold new, they were and are shockingly good. It's not a match for the Franklin Mint version, but it's a lot closer than it ought to be.
This specimen has basically lived in its packaging most of its life, since I chose to display the Franklin Mint one instead. It is about as factory fresh as it can be, stored in a no smoking home in dry California.
It should be noted, however, that my Pace Car lineup has some Greenlight products that were actually BETTER than the more expensive alternatives! Greenlight is also unique in the use of end caps to suspend the model in its package. I still will have to strap the doors shut, but I don't have to worry about the model breaking off its mountings in transit.
Ebay now handles the finances and shipping - I just report the size and weight of the package. The model will be protected by a second box and padding to ensure safe passage.
This is a really nice replica of a Corvette glamour queen, and better than the price would indicate. Happy Ebaying!
