This diary is 128 Years Old

Very Good Condition.
Just light binding wear.
A little damage to a front endpaper where a tag was removed.

The pages are in very good condition.
Hand-written entries for the first 3 months, only ( Jan. - M...arch, 1891 )
Not all days have an entry.
Entries in the " Cash Account " at the rear, from January thru March, 1891.
Just a few addresses written in the " Addresses & Memoranda " section.

A Standard Diary , for the year 1891.
32 preliminary pages with printed Miscellaneous Information, including a Calendar for 1891, Weights & Measures , Interest Tables , United States Postage Rates , Standard Time , US Presidents from George Washington to Benjamin Harrison ( with date of birth , inaguration , term in office , death , native state , residence , and political party ), Help In Case Of Accidents , Poison Antidotes , " New " Weather Signals adopted by the United States Signal Service March 1, 1887 - Weather Flags , The Legal Limit of Interest Rates in each State & Territory with the Penalty for Usury , Values of Foreign Gold & Silver Money , Business Law In Daily Use ( " A contract made with a lunatic is void " , etc., etc. ), Christian Festivals & Fasts , Morning & Evening Stars ( Planets ), Chronological Cycles ( Dominical Letter , Epact , etc. ), Astronomy ; Eclipses for 1891 , Tide Table from the US Coast Survey ( cities & towns from Eastport Maine to Cedar Keys Florida ), plus 12 Monthly Astronomical Tables giving the Moon phases, East Coast Table of Sunrise & Sunset, Moon Rise and Set for every day of 1891
( each of the 12 monthly tables is headed by an Astrological illustration for that month )

The real value of this Diary is, of course, in the hand-written entries, which were made in 1891, in old ink.
Most days from January to March have an entry, though some do not.
The last hand-written entry is for March 28, 1891 ( with two small entries in April ).

The writer was a woman, though her own name is not stated.

Some entries include notes on the weather that day.

( note : Miss Amelia J. Frost was a missionary for the Women's National Indian Association.
Funded by the Connecticut Indian Association ( CIA ), Miss Amelia Frost , who was born in Albion , New York , worked at the Ross Fork Mission School with Native American Indians of the Bannock and Soshoni tribes in Idaho Territory [ Idaho became a state in 1890 ]. The Fort Hall Idaho Indian Mission was associated with the Episcopal Church in the 1890's )

The diary writer kept a record of her expenses paid, January to March.
There are numerous entries of prices paid for a wide array of goods and services, including groceries , household goods , " car ride " fares , church contributions , Doane College ( $10 ), book purchases , shoes mended , concert tickets , stationary , Colorado College ( $10 ), Glasses mended , a hammer , chopping bowl , biscuit & cake , oranges , etc., etc., and payments to several people ( including " Elizabeth , " who is perhaps the writer's daughter )
