The brief research I did found that these were used by Medical staff in WW2 and beyond. Embossed on the front cover is the US Medical insignia for the US Army.
Condition - very good, especially considering the age. It has been stored in the original box and probably not touched in decades. The original box is in very good shape, the metal case is in great shape. It has some minor scratches and marks. The latches and handle are all working. The extendable folding wind screen has some rust and burn marks (I presume). They are mostly on the wings. The Manuals have rust marks on both the front and back covers from being in contact with the windscreen. The inside pages are in very good to excellent. The main unit appears to be in very good shape I did not fire it up.
Please take a look at the pictures to judge the condition for yourself. Fast shipping. Good luck bidding!
Noter - keep a watch out for other WWII items I will be listing from this estate later this week. Including mess kits from 1942 & 1945, an Ames trench shovel (with cover/belt hanger) from 1945 and a canteen from I believe 1956.
