Up for auction is a beautiful cover from a refugee in the Jewish ghetto in Shanghai China named Walter Loewy to Herbert Lasker in Prague, Germany. In excellent condition. Priced to sell. Postmarked September 5, 1940. Before and during world war 2 many Jews fleeing Nazi persecution took refuge in Shanghai China forming a ghetto. After the war, with the Nazi's defeated, and civil war in China heating up, many sought to go to Palestine or the USA.
