Seidov “Soviet Aces of the Korean War” is about one of thelargest armed conflicts of the Cold War period - the Korean War, which lastedthree years and brought enormous human and material losses to the opposingsides. At a critical moment for the DPRK, on October 25, 1950, Chinesevolunteers joined the battles against... the interventionists, and in November -formations of Soviet jet fighter aircraft joined them. The history of this war stillcontains many white spots, since the Soviet archives relating to the events thattook place in Korea almosthalf a century ago and the participation of the USSR in them were closed. The book helps to raise this veil and imagine the very difficultconditions in which Soviet pilots fought, often disregarding the numericalsuperiority of the enemy (and these were mostly well-trained American pilots), boldly attacked him and often achieved victory in the air, saving many lives on earth. Thevery first air battles of the MiGs against the B-29 showed that its loud name“super-fortress” was far from being true. The vaunted "Sabres" and"Thunderjets" also got their share. The special value of the book is in the authenticity of events reproduced on the basis of extensive factual materialsand memories of the direct participants in those battles. Inthe battles over the territory of China and North Korea, Soviet pilots shotdown more than 1, 300 enemy aircraft, losing about 320 of their planes.
