 code: 2015/ZDa charming carved wooden figure of a Standing Femalestyle related to the Akan Gold Coast, West Africa, now Ghanaage unknown, but we think is pre 1940carved of reddish, light brown wood with black colouring with accented eyes, nails and loinclothwith a detailed carved coiffure divided into two lobes, neckrings, free carved arms, both her hands on the abdomen, she is wearing a loincloth (carved) and is standing on a decorated carved pedestalthe blac...kened wooden plinth is of later date and European origin, attached with two screwscondition: very nice patine - smooth and shiny, signs of handling, age related cracks (see pictures), firm, no wormholes, a small hole in her spine - perhaps a remain to attach a standheight: 31 cm / 12.2 inchweight: 464 gr.
