Otis M.E, USA.-The barrel was then painted gloss black.( which prevents corrosion on the metal surface)- cannons on ships were typically painted black with tar to keep the salt water from eating through the Cannons on board. The wooden base was made from pine beams. Each piece of wood in the base was soaked in linseed oil for a week and then they were flame hardened on all surfaces. (This cooks the oil into the wood while hardening the surface.)
-Signal Cannon, Use at your own risk: You are held liable for what you do with it after you purchase it.-The brackets holding the barel in place are also hand forged.-The lag bolts are all textured and coated with a rust resistant layer.-The wheels are welded and all four wheels are 100% level with one another when rolled across a surface.-The rope would be typically tied up to a pulley where someone would yard back to engage the cannon on a ship. It also reduces the recoil.-The tapered block in the rear of the cannon adjust's the angle of fire.The ramrod was carved from a slab of ash and then it was fitted with a forged barrel swab.
