Hi this auction is for a lovely vintage lacquered design photo or picture album.Made of a hard black plastic material (I think probably light wood) that had be lacquered in black all over. The front had a pretty multi coloured map and scenic design of Japan, this is similar to the vintage painted jewellery boxes you see. Hinges at one side and is tied with an orange cord, inside the pages are card with a layer of tracing type paper over the top. Measures approx 9’ long by 6.5’ wide... and 1.25’ deep. Hasn’t been used as such (for pictures) as pages are blank and have no remains of sticky tabs used to mount pictures but is vintage item, has signs of age/general surface wear and the painting has been done in a fairly rustic manner, probably hand painted and possibly a tourist piece. Most noticeable wear is on the spine, around the cord toes and the top corner. Lovely for display or to mount vintage pictures in, would be lovely filled for a coffee table book etc. From a smoke free home. Any questions please ask- thanks for looking:-)
