Vintage A.D. Sutton & Sons DEDO Doll - from the 50’s + 60’s. This doll was made in Hong Kong & imported to New York. This is all marked on the back of the neck. These dolls are rare & hard to find! This doll was won @ a carnival by my aunt’s (1963/Vermont) & has been packed away all these years at my Nana’s house (lol she saved everything)! I was really surprised to have found this (interesting + adorable) doll when I was cleaning out the house! My aunts even remember winning t...his doll at the fair!
This vintage doll is 11” tall (28cm). Her hair is the original blue color, all her hair is attached, and she has 2 braids on each side of her head with, original pink ribbons. I did notice that she does have some yellowing on both sides of her head - just below hairline (please view photos). Her hair has some flyaway’s too. She is wearing her original red + white striped dress (snaps in back)with original undies too. The outfit does not have any rips, stains or tears. She has huge blue, google, DEDO eyes; that move when you move her head. The irises of both her eyes are faded but, movement of eyes function. Her eyebrows are v-shaped and the left eyebrow has 2 small areas that are faded. Her seams are all intact without any open areas and she has minimal yellowing. Her right upper inner arm has an area that looks like a small area that melted? I am not sure what happened but, again please see the area in photos. Her head & arms are loose and she needs to be re-strung (I was going to do it but, I was afraid to do damage)! Her legs are not as loose. Her white socks & black shoes have a small amount of chipped paint. This is a great doll to add to your collection! These dolls are rare & hard to find!
