These series of shows were organized by Musicians United for Safe Energy, or MUSE, an activist group founded in 1979 by Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt, and John Hall. The group advocated against nuclear energy, forming shortly after the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in March 1979. MUSE organized this series of five No Nukes concerts held at Madison Square Garden in New York in September 1979, and many of the acts toured the US to rally support for the anti-nuclear movement. This series of concerts was filmed and an album and film were both released in 1980 documenting the historic performances. This poster also announces a No Nukes rally held at Battery Park that attracted over 200, 00 people. A cool image of a rockin' Statue of Liberty holding a banner announcing the concerts, this beautiful reproduction on heavy stock measures approx. 13 x 19" and is in mint condition.
