Victorian Pressed Glass Flower Trough 1885, The Grace Darling Boat
Item History & Price
This is a pressed glassed Flower trough, in the shape of Grace Darlings boat, by Edward Bolton, Warrington Lancs. Orford Lane Glass Works. Formerly Robinson & Bolton (1855-1869, It was manufactured in 1885 and the pattern(Hobnail) was registered on the 11th December 1885. It will have been one of the very early pressings as the title 'Grace Darling Boat and the Registration number 39414 is still visible on the stern. On later pressings the reg. numbers and any other marks will... have been worn away in the mould. The words 'Grace Darling Boat' is also stamped in the bottom of the trough along with a reg. number 23527 but this number in the list of registrations is not attributed to this design. It could be a miss strike or a number listed in porcelain reg. numbers, I have seen this before, 39414 is the correct one.The trough is in excellent condition to say it is 135 years old, no cracks or chips. The trough is 28cm. long, 8cm. wide and 5cm. deep.Any questions please contact me.
