This is a fine and quite large Georgian sterling silver teapot made by Paul Storr and hallmarked in London 1822.
It is in very good condition and clearly hallmarked on the base and lid which has a wooden finial surmounted by a silver rose. An ornate spout with reed decoration and there is matching reed decoration to the handle. The upper rim has a gadroon and shell decoration and the teapot sits firmly on a raised circular base which has banded decoration. As you would e...xpect from this famous maker the teapot has been made with a heavy gauge of silver.
Paul Storr is regarded as the finest English silversmith of the 19th century and made silver for three English kings starting with George 111.
