Vintage condiment trio made PY Japan in the 1950s. Set is of the Py Pear faces and these little fellows look like they are frightened!! Condiment set includes a bright green leaf tray, teapot/lid shaped mustard jar or jelly jar with lid and spoon, and teapot Pear face salt and pepper shakers. The faces and the character that comes through is amazing and high quality like the PY artists back in the 50s in Japan when they hand-painted these. Set is in nearly MINT condition but for a tiny... rough spot/glaze skip on the back rim of pepper shaker, not noticeable but I want to point it out.
Mustard/Jam measures approx. 3 1/2" x 4" inches. Has the PY, Norcrest, Japan stamp. Tray measures approx. 6" inches x 5" inches. Has the PY, Norcrest, Japan stamp and black Hand-painted Coronet Japan label.Teapot salt & pepper has 3 pour holes and measures approx. 2" inches x 2 1/2" inches. Stamped Japan and has cork stopper.Pear face salt & pepper has 2 pour holes and measures approx. 3" inches. Stamped Japan and has cork stopper.
Colors are bright and the glaze is shiny on this RARE set!! It really doesn't get any better than these!!
