No. 56978. Black transferware ironstone platter in the "Athens" pattern featuring scroll and classical architecture. English Registry Mark No. 56978 indicates the design was registered on January 3, 1849 and production continued through the late 1800s. This rectangle shaped platter measures 18“ x 14. This piece is in very good condition with light crazing and wear on the bottom (see photos).
