Durga is beautiful and untamable! Her 8 arms hold a myriad of weapons and symbols including a conch, discus mainly associated with Vishnu. She is seated on her vahana or vehicle a lion. The lion has beautiful features and is just as calm and peaceful as the Goddess riding him. Durga is quite passive in this form, very unusual for Durga the unconquerable from of Devi. Her hand held up in the abhaya mudra or "fear not" hand position.
