Alex Johnson (1942-2015) was a right-handed hitting outfielder, known for his temperment, and for being hard to get along with, which is no doubt why he played for 8 different teams during his 13 seasons in the majors for the Phillies (1964-1965), Cardinals (1966-1967), Reds 91968-1969), Angels (1970-1971), Indians (1972), Rangers (1973-1974), Yankees (1974-1975), and Tigers (1976). A line-driver hitter, Johnson hit .288 in 1322 games, with 1331 hits, 78 HRs, 525 RBIs, and 113 stolen b...ases, and had career high 17 HRs, and 88 RBIs in 1969. He led the A.L. in hitting in 1970, with a career best .329 average, and had career high 202 hits, and 17 stolen bases, with 14 HRs, and 86 RBIs, while making the All-Star team, and finishing 8th in MVP. His brother, Ron (1947-2018) was a running back in the NFL from 1969 to 1975.
