Vintage 19th Century Sterling Silver Pocket Watch and FWC Prince Albert Chain
Two very interesting pieces: an unbranded pocket watch dating from 1875 and a 10" Prince Albert chain dating from the late 1800s.
The WatchThis is generally undamaged and clean. The back will not stay closed and the watch is fully wound but will not run. There is an inner dust cover in the back that is screwed on and has one screw missing. I cannot undo the remaining one and am very di...sappointed that I cannot show you the mechanism. Also, the second hand is loose.
The hallmarks are for the London Assay Office, Sterling Silver and for 1875.
The ChainThis is clean and undamaged and every link shows the sterling-silver mark lion passant. The clasp is hallmarked [F.W.C.] for Frank William Cole, who worked out of Vyse Street in Birmingham in the mid to late 1800s, until his death in 1910. The other two hallmarks are worn into illegibility.
Thisitem is at least second-hand and "pre-loved". Ittherefore has signs of wear and defects requisite with its age. I have described and photographed honestly. P&Pquoted covers Royal Mail Sign prices for this size/weight package. I welcome collection in person. I amhappy to combine p&p on items ending closely together – justrequest an invoice once your items are won.
