Bronze USN Navy Minesweeper Ship Anchor 1954 Warren Foundry Danforth

Here we have a 30 lb bronze (non-magnetic) Danforth styleminesweeper anchor marked on the shank “LWT 30 LB A1/Warren Fdry/BR. JSL USN1954”. Anchor is 34” long and is inexcellent condition with no damage. Itis painted black but some of the paint has worn off. The original keeper pin has been replacedwith a piece of heavy brass wire. Asseen in the photos, the anchor breaks down for storage or shipping just by pulling that pin. This would polish up... nicely if desired. These were made for the US Navy for use on minesweepers(which needed to be non-magnetic to avoid setting off mines). It is quite rare to find them as there werenot many made originally and many were tossed in the scrap pile due to theirmetal content. Shipping by parcel post. Item guaranteed as described.
