The first two pictures are the more accurate as far as the color goes and were taken outside and natural light. I believe this teapot is decorative but I am told it is functional. If it were for me I would just display it on a shelf .
This teapot has what I would describe it as a teal color pattern it is not glossy. It almost looks oriental in style.It is 7 3/4 Inches tall. The length from the spout to the back of the teapot is 8 3/4 inches. This piece weighs 34 ounces. The interior... is shiny black and during the firing process it looks like some of the black bled through to the surface. Look closely at the pictures to see what I mean . The first 6 pictures are all of the teapot that you are bidding on. The last 3 pictures are just pictures of the whole collection of seven pieces that are there for your reference in case you wish to buy any more.We purchased a collection of seven of these gorgeous high-end ceramic pieces that are all signed by the artist Phyllis Spiegel. From the research that I did she is from East Hampton New York and is well known in the arts and crafts community for her fine pieces . many of which sell for hundreds of dollars. They are all hand molded and handmade and painted or glazed. Each piece has normal dimples, imperfections, that come from being hand molded and hand finished. The pictures are better than my description so look closely at all the pictures and ask any questions before you bid.
