This listing is for a gorgeous antique French Green Uranium art glass egg shaped Opaline glass trinket box/casket decorated with multi-point cut star on top from the Napoleon III Era (1850-1870). This box is mounted above a flower-like stem with decoratively engraved brass leaves with two brass flowers with red opaline glass center that is mounted onto a creamy white alabaster base. The alabaster base 5/8..." thick with a scalloped shape and sits on four alabaster feet. This elaborate trinket box/casket was most likely originally purchased on the Palais Royal in Paris during the Grand Tour Era when wealthy travelers began traveling to the tourist areas of the world during the mid-late 19th Century. This piece is in excellent condition, there are no chips or cracks, and if glows absolutely wonderful under the black light. The ormolu has an aged patina to it, and the two red glass flowers finish the whole package. The hinge closes properly. Measurements are about 6.5” tall, 7” at the widest point the egg being 4.5” wide.
