1 Leaf RARE Syriac Garshuni / Karshuni Manuscript Using The Nestorian Alphabet

This is an extremely rare NestorianSyriac manuscript leaf on paper, in Garshuni (or sometimes called Karshuni), which means that it was written by a Christian in their native Arabic language (not the Quranic Arabic), butusing the Nestorian Syriac alphabet in writing. Nestorian is sometimesreferred to as the Chaldean script or the Assyrian script. This is probably a Liturgical or Lectionary Text, or it may be an exposition onsome Christian subject. Syriac is a Midd...le Aramaic language, which is very similar to the Aramaic spoken by Jesus, but also related toHebrew, Arabic, and Ge'ez. The size of the leaf is about 3 3/4in. x 5 3/4 in. Also, the following words have been identified on this leaf: "Allah" or "God"; "Blessing"; and "Distorted." There are also eight (8) beautiful designs, that probably indicate the beginning of a new subject or paragraph (see the scanned images). This is amazing.At Matthew 5:18 Jesus said: "For verily Isay unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall inno wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." The "Jot"that Jesus referred to is, in the Greek New Testament, the Greek word “iota”and the smallest letter of the Greek alphabet, but in the Aramaic languageJesus would be referring to the letter “yod, ” the smallest letter inAramaic; and on one side of this leaf you can see ten (10) instances of the similar "yod" in Syriac (see the last scannedimage, left side, with the Jot or Yod in the margin and various high-lighted lines goingto the occurrences).I do not know the exact datethat this manuscript text was written, but it was clearly older than the 19thcentury. Similar leaves can be foundon the internet and eBay with a suggested date of the 4th or 5th century, which(speaking frankly) is ridiculous, so I suggest the more conservative timeperiod of the late 18th century. Condition: this leaf has stains on thepaper, as well as faded areas.
