SERGIO COSTANTINI MURANO ART GLASS VASE

Contsantini combined several, Murano glass design elements to achieve the final product: burst foil, hot work and fading.
The vase is found with three, distinct sections, expertly using contrasts to achieve his vision:
The bottom section, is a rich amber glass with a difuse, hazy appearance gradually lightening as you reach the center; act...ing as a border between bottom and top.
The center - the window to the vase - is a transparent band encircling the middle of the piece. To dress up its simple appearance, the artist applied a series of contrasting, random black threads that really pop against lighter colors.
The top section, is opaque and a milky burnt-orange in color and heavily infused burst silver foil flecks throughout.
Constantini used a difficult technique for the clear center band, and keeping with the transparent "window" effect, he blew the vase while at the same time keeping the center free of flecks; although some slipped through, you can see how few there are compared to the rest.
The vase measures 12.5" H x 9" W a 27" circumference and weighs 5 pounds. It remains in pristine condition and is correctly signed, "Constantini Murano ".
Like all Murano, its of the highet quality!
