... Buy it now! refurbished! Vintage chicago ludwig speed king and w.f.l. Bass drum pedals. Every " core" pedal i receive get totally stripped down, all parts are cleaned thoroughly in a ultra-sonic cleaner, the pedal " towers" are cleaned thoroughly, the spring tension adjusting screws threads are "chased" with proper sized tap for smoothe spring adjustment.the adjusting screws are re-surfaced. Push rods are re-surfaced- to glide on the cams. I seperate every floor board from the base plate. Install brand new bushings in the floor board! And every floorboard gets re-assembled with a new axle!! My axles have a .020 groove cut into the ends of the axle , so its now "serviceable"- UNLIKE LUDWIG'S -PRESSED ON -NON- SERVICEABLE AXLE WAS MADE!So every now and then, , depending on you amount of usage, , simply remove one "e" clip from rear axle, , , slide out axle, , , re-lube, , replace axle, and e clip. I supply 2 spare e clips, , a small container of my blue lube( for your axle servicing) ---i also supply a free set of my bass drum hoop protectors to prevent your speed king's clamp from giving your hoop--"HOOP RASH". William f ludwigHE THEN BOUGHT HIS NAME BACK UNTIL SELLING THE Company IN THE 1980'sMy point is there the same pedals They were the same thing--- the vintage ones----Until conn selmer made them in china with sealed ball bearings (containing one drop if oil)so there was now built in obsolenceThey seized in 3-4, yrs from lack of lubercation. My point is this -----w f l ---pedals are better made than speed kings were..So sometimes i may be low on speed king floor boards so i substitute a w f l floor board...Sometimes im out of the real rare 5/16 t bolt for hoop clamp, , So i substitute a modern t handle...Sometimes the 1/4 x 28 thread pattern beater t bolt is stripped in the chrome yoke where you would tighten the beater, , since that yoke isnt made anymore ----and cant be welded as its zinc---I re tap it using the t handle from the hoop clamp as its the next size larger at--5/16 thread pattern which is actually strongerIm in the process of making a steel yoke----Available next year!I do not want negative feedback because you wanted a speed king floor board as its the same as a wfl floorboard, , , , , , , and i do not want negative feedback over a stupid bolt thats not available any longer!Or a yoke that i cant get as i dont own a TIME MACHINE!!Ill make a steel yoke.Coming next year the unit with the steel yoke will cost more ---- BUT LAST FOREVERYour choice upon placing your orderAs i state here my speed kings are better than new Next year they will be even better with a choice of ordering with the steel yoke THAT WILL COST MORE AS I HAVE TO PAY A MACHINEST/ WELDER TO MANUFACTURE BY HAND! , , SO IF U ARE CHEAP DONT ORDER IT!, LUDWIG DRUM COMPANY WANTED TO HIRE ME EARLIER THIS YEAR, , , AS I KNOW MORE ABOUT THERE PEDALS THAN THEY DO OR DIDAND WHY THERE PEDALS SQUEAKED AND MINE DO NOT, , I TURNED THEM DOWN, , IM RETIRED , , I WORK FOR CARLCLUBPERCUSSION PRODUCTS.
