THE MAKER IS GEORGE DAVIDSON MARKED UNDERNEATHMADE IN ENGLAND PATENT7830/1910 AND THE NUMBER 4. On the base of the frog can be found the size, the words 'Made in England' and the phrase 'Patent 7830/1910' all in raisedletters.Davidson, in common with other glass manufacturers, produced a variety of differentflower holders for their va...ses and flower bowls. These were also soldindependently. Adverts for the 'Dome Flower Block' can be found in the Army andNavy Stores catalogues of the 1930s. Another example is a 1934 Libertycatalogue which shows a Monart bowl fitted with a Davidson flower dome, Todaythe term 'frog' is sometimes used by collectors and dealers for flower blocksand supports. This is a modern term. Davidson always described them as flowerblocks or flower supports.Conditionis Vintage Age Appropriate (90 years old) and shows wear from age – marks, crack etc - refer photographs for close inspection – still very usable and verycollectable.
