Item up for bid is vintage RCA Victor AM/FM radio called "The Livingston" with a model number of 6-RF-9. This piece would have been made in the later half of the 1950's. We plugged this in and the tubes lit up and we managed to get a hum with no stations tuned in or a sound like it was trying so this piece will need an adjustment or repair to function as intended. PLEASE NOTE: The cord shows wear and a few small spots of bare wire so DO NOT OPERATE RADIO WITHOUT FIRST HAVING THE POWER ...CORD REPLACED. Wooden casing shows extensive fading and wear to the finish with the top having extreme discoloration. Veneer shows chipping and wear with the top showing extensive chipping and loss to the veneer. Original owner of this piece installed brass handles onto the sides. Top of the wooden casing has handwriting that the original owner put there for reasons unknown to us. Right side shows one missing knob and none of the knobs present turned the dial so we suspect that is the one missing or the dial need repair. Item is being sold exactly as found so knobs, dial, etc will need a cleaning in the nooks and crannies. Radio measures 10-1/2" top to bottom by 19" wide by 9" in depth. Great restoration candidate or perfect as a parts harvesting specimen. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
