Condition: Book: Vg, The pale green cloth is very clean with light fading to the board edges, spine titles and ruled lines stamped in red, the spine has faded a touch, light pushing to spine tips. Some light foxing to the block otherwise the pages are tightly bound and clean. This was the copy of prolific businessman Manfred Witgar Hitchcock (1923-2007) who has inscribed the bo...ok to the ffep with purchase date and note 'page 278 'Two and Two Make Five'. The title page carries the date of 1949 as required with first state/first printings.Jacket: Good, The original first printing jacket designed by Michael Kennard, unclipped with the price of 10s net. Front and rear panels are reasonably bright as are the flaps, thinning to the paper along the hinge flaps, small chip along front hinge flap, small closed tear to the bottom edge. The spine which was in a poor state has benefitted from full restoration, with the missing '& Warburg' being re-applied to the bottom edge.
