"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again."
The book has light spotting to the lower edge, rubbing to the silver band with one small split to the paper band (obviously not to the cloth underneath) at the rear gutter, and minor shelf wear. The board...s remain straight, the binding is loose but still square, and internally the block is rather clean. A very clean, bright, and solid example of a deceivingly hard to obtain book in the first edition. The author’s breakaway success which has never been out of print since this first edition was published eighty years ago. Basis for the exceptional 1940 adaptation of the same title which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starred Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine.
