This famous work is unaffordable in first edition but here we have the best of the later reprints. In the large folio format it measures a whopping 300 xn460 mmSuch is the size and weight of the book they are. usually found loose and falling be bits, or cobbled, together because they were glued and not string bound...this copy is firm with nothing loose and no inner joint splits....complete of course with the many plates full size on heavy paper and clean from endpaper to endpaper with ...no names.Published by G.Haywood Hill..London 1938.. first edition thus.Stubbs actually disected a horse in the upstairs apartments of his house for his drawings for this work and it is said all bar one maid left the house because of the smell. The text of the book runs to 47pages plus intro, dedications etc then the plates which are both full page and double page folding....all are correctly folded. 35 plates in all withmany double page.Poor lihtnwhen taking photos the plates and text are much brighter, whiter and fresh than shown. The binding is in publishers paper covered boards with a rexine type gilt titled spine and although adequate was obviously meant to allow the owner to have the book leather bound or whatever...this binding, like most seen, carries some small paint and other marks with the rear board edge and corners worn and frayed but as said all holding well. Whilst I am quite happy to pack and ship overseas this would have to be on ebay Global rate and not on their separate estimated rates which are always under the actual cost.
