The Ames factory was the mostprolific and turned out more models of American swords than all of the othermaker’s combined, before and since. Amesmade swords for the enlisted men and also an extensive variety of swor...ds withcustom features and variations for the officers, very elaborate pieces. Many of the surviving models, elaborateswords including commemorative swords and many swords of the finest work areillustrated in the book. The book hasblack and white and colored photos and lots of corresponding text andmaterials. A comprehensive book of outstandingwork. The book comes with a dust cover.The book is AS NEW. The dust cover has asmall amount of handling wear. As NEW 1. We rate the condition of our collectibles on the following scale. · As New is self-explanatory. It means that the book is inthe state that it should have been in when it left the publisher. This is theequivalent of mint condition in numismatics.· Fine (F or FN) is "As New" but allowing for thenormal effects of time on an unused book that has been protected. A fine bookshows no damage.· Very Good (VG) describes a book that is worn but untorn. Formany collectors this is the minimum acceptable condition for all but the rarestitems.
