I have available a Franklin Library leather bound book titled, The Second Sex, by Simone De Beauvoir. This is signed by the author. Book was published in 1979.
As you can see from the photos the book has some wear. The bottom edges of the cover are rubbed, and it appears there is a little white paint? along the bottom edge of the cover as well. The spine has a couple tiny rubbed spots, overall the spine portion still displays very well. The silk end papers have some fading. There i...s a home library medallion stamp from a prior owner on the second page. There is some foxing / spotting on many of the pages mainly along the outer border portion of the pages, but some pages have a little more than others. When the book is closed there is some wear to the outer gold edging as well, when you are flipping the pages it also shows foxing spots along the outer edges of the pages. Overall, the book still displays well, but there is some noticeable wear in different areas.
