The book (Quarto) is bound in the original deep red cloth covered boards with double ruled borders in ...black to the upper cover, gilt illustration to the upper cover and titling gilt to the upper cover and spine.Binding is sound, just light rubbing to the joints; shelf wear to spine head and foot ends; spine a tad faded, minimal rubbing; negligible wear and marks to boards.Inside:
The book is complete with 16 leaves of mounted colour plate as called for, all free of any rips or tears, and contains numerous full page and in text black/white illustrations.Occasional foxing, generally minor, almost exclusively to margins, just rarely clipping the edge of a mounted plate; the odd marginal handling mark; moderate ink staining to the front end paper. Inch long lower marginal tears at pages 26-30, curved but easily repairable, and the occasional minor marginal tear.With the occasional slight strain at the gutter.Inner hinges are sound.
The book measures 25.5 cm x 20 cm and weighs 1.040kg without packaging.This book will be sent by registered mail.
