AMAZINGc1880 JAMES DIXON SILVER PLATE DEEPLY ETCHED BISCUIT BARREL TEA CADDY JAR Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions. Up for Auction with NO RESERVE is a gorgeous late Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Barrel or Large Tea Caddy Jar. The Barrel is one of the most beautiful Silver Plate examples I have sold in some time, featuring deeply etched Victorian Floral and Fern designs throughout, which literally cover the entire surface, even the lid. The Barrel also features very finely detailed Lion Paw Feet. The Jar is marked for the Important Period Silversmiths James Dixon & Sons and the quality is excellent. The Barrel is in amazing condition with no damage or repairs, only showing very minor signs of the base metal showing through, about as nice an example as you could ask to find. The Jar is also a great size for biscuits, small cookies, or Loose Tea or tea Bags which ever you prefer, measuring 6-1/4 inches tall by 7-1/4 inches wide overall. Take another look at the photos and if you love Victorian Silver then you are sure to love this beauty !
