The Fine Print:
1. Please don't email me with lowball offers; when I use the Best Offer option I am actually looking for reasonable offers through the eBay system, so don't hesitate to make a reasonable offer because you never know... That said, please note that I nearly always put an automatic rejection floor on any listing where I use a Best Offer option. That means that lowball offers are automatically rejected; I never even see them. If your offer is below the automatic rejection floor I have established, it means I am not interested in selling the item for your offer. Not that I don't respect you, not that I am offended, just that your offer is too low...
2. I do not end listings early unless I screwed up the listing so if you absolutely, positively gotta have it, please use the BIN or the fixed price, or make a strong Best Offer.
3. Please do not ask me to ship internationally off the grid of countries selected in my listing or via another method than what I've specified: the answer is "no." Please also note that you will have to pay for shipping as calculated by eBay.
4. Please note that I don't do customs fraud. I mark an item on the export paperwork as worth precisely what I sold it for. So, if you come from a place with a high VAT or other customs duty and you still want the item, please remember to factor your taxes into your decision.
5. The photos are part of the description of the item. Learn them, know them, live them.
6. I combine shipping for purchases with an automatic discount rule. Oh, happy day...
7. I try to be cool about letting you take the time to pay, especially if you are tracking multiple auctions, but I get charged by the man for your auction wins immediately, so if you renege I have to open a case to get a refund. Soooo, if I don't hear from you and don't receive payment within a week of the close of an auction I have set my account to open a non-paying bidder case automatically. Repeat late payors will be barred from further participation in my auctions, and you don't want that to happen because I plan to offer a lot of really great stuff for sale.
8. Lately I have received some pretty nasty contacts from would-be purchasers. Please note the following:
--When you do contact me a little basic courtesy is always appreciated and politely reciprocated; nasty messages are ignored and then mercilessly mocked on hobby chat boards.
--I do not "have to" sell you my item for the price you dictate. My wife is the only one who gets to say I "have to" do something, and she says it plenty.
--I am well aware of what the market is for most anything I sell; trying to "educate" me on pricing is not a negotiation tool, it is just being a tool.
--While I am certainly appreciative of your personal or familial connection to a particular item, it is not a reason for me to give you a discount. A crasser person than I would even consider it a reason to raise the price. I won't do that, but I won't go the other way either. Hey, man, it's a business, you know, and the rent is too damn high for me to let personal considerations intrude.
