TESTED & WORKING WITH FAULTS!
Please only buy this if you have the necessary skills to be able to put it in full working order!
When I first got this I used it with an external tape deck. It loaded 2 games OK then it kept giving a 'broken in' error every time I tried to load a game from tape. I then fitted a new drive belt in the disk drive, it then wouldn't switch on! I then pressed all the chips down and it came back on first time! Since then... the 'broken in' error has not returned and I tried about 10 tape games over a few days.The disk drive does work BUT I tried 10 discs I know work and only 8 played, the disc drive is an 'EME-150A' which is an early one so I assume it needs recalibrating.THERE MAY BE MORE FAULTS OR IT MIGHT BE A SIMPLE JOB TO GET IT FULLY OPERATIONAL OR YOU COULD JUST USE IT WITH A 'FUSSY' DISK DRIVE!I have also cleaned the Amstrad inside to remove dust/fluff etc. I have cleaned the keyboard and 'retrobright' the keys, some keys are a bit patchy but nice and bright, they were a dark yellow.I have also cleaned the contacts for all the expansion ports.As a final test I left it on for over 24hrs with no problems.
