About French*Antique*ManoirFrench*Antique*Manoir is a charming antique french brocante and antiques from 18th century until the Art Déco period which come essentially from the Loire Valley, known for its history, wine, family property, manoir and castles. This antique French enameled holy water font is truly rare to find, this one dates from the late 1800 and has a fabulous colorful flourish enamel champleve in a blue dominant. The center carries a medallio...n hand painted plaque in convex gild porcelain that shows the most fine hand painted i have ever seen. The Virgin Mary is sitting on a wooden chair, she has a serene features, she is wearing a long robe, a head scarf and she is holding chubby adorable Jesus Child. The painting is absolutely gorgeous by its finesse but it is also the reproduction of the famous painting of RAPHAEL called "the Virgin in the chair" and painted in 1514 and it was for 500 years of of the most famous painting in the world. This painting by Raphael has belonged to the Medicis and at the time, every family in Europe had an engraving or reproduction of this beloved work, let's rediscover her today in this beautiful wooden plaque embellished with a wonderful work of enamel. Just below, you have a stoup that, in addition to its beautiful shape and decor, closes and opens properly. In perfect over all condition, and the wood plaque is not worm-eaten. The back is covered with a brass plaque and it has a ring in the back to hang.

The wooden plaque is 36cm/14.17" height, 21.5cm/8.46" large and 1.3cm/0.51" thickness. The gild convex porcelain is 8.5cm/3.35" height and 6.5cm/2.56" large. The enamel that surrounds the convex gild porcelain is 23cm/ 9.06" height and 14cm/5.51" large. The stoup is 4cm/ 1.57"depth, 6.5cm/2.56" large and 5.5cm/ 2.17"height.
