He was born June 30, 1919, in Fredericktown, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 47 years, Norma and his sister Barbara Innis. Fergy is survived by his son, Charles Andrew Ferguson (Claudia); daughter, Jill Ferguson; 4 grandchildren, Garrett, Lori, John and Nancy; several great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Fred Bornstein (Janet). Fergy was an avid bodybuilder and weight lifter, and was a proponent of physical fitness. He was Athletic Director of the Columbus Athletic Club for 31 years; started one of the first health studios in Columbus, "Apollo Health Studio"; and started one of the first live TV fitness shows, "Fitness with Ferg". In 1945 he earned the title of "Mr. Ohio" and in 1950 "Mr. America". He was a coach of the Pan-American weightlifting championships as well as a personal coach and mentor to many. He brought the bodybuilding craze to Columbus.
