Being offered is a very nice old antique Balinese Keris sword. This large Keris measures 25” long when measured in its scabbard. The handle is wood in the Balinese style with nice lines. The blade is very lovely. The pamor blade , with nice silvery lines contrasting nicely to the dark background features extensive gold kinatah work on both sides of the blade as well as the top of the gangya. Nice mendak with good colorful stone or glass insets. The... center of the blade embodies a Naga or snakes body with a horse, deer or goat below it at the forte of the blade. The animal appears on both sides of the blade. A human face is carved into the side of the blade. The scabbard is very nice with a lovely shaped top piece and the scabbard stem with nice depressions at the top. The top scabbard piece is loose but could easily be glued back in place. A very nice Keris with lovely gold kinatah all over the blade. Probably about 50-75 years old and would have been an expensive piece to commission given the good work.
