Life Ring Buoy and 7 Glass Floats
Here is a beach combed life ring that is 30 inches across with an inside opening of 18 inches across. It includes 7 high seas foreign glass fishing floats. The floats average 3-1/4 inch in diameter. Two of the floats are in their original netting. They were attached to the foreign high seas drift nets(miles long) by a s...ingle piece of twine. I picked up these items on my spring beach combing trip last year.
These are the real McCoy high seas working floats that I personally beach combed. The glass floats were eventually replaced by Plastic and Styrofoam corks in the late 60's.
The floats are a piece of the high seas foreign commercial fishing history as they are at least 60 years old.
