I DO COMBINE SHIPPING. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE LISTING, PLEASE REQUEST AN INVOICE SO I CAN MAKE THE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SHIPPING COST. On Jul-25-19 at 08:16:51 PDT, seller added the following information:I understand that sometimes a seller may have other cards on auction that are of interest, and that does present an opportunity t...o save some money on shipping. However, that does not mean it is okay to win an item and not pay for it until every auction for every card that interests you has ended. I list cards frequently, and there's a good chance that many cards from the various batches I list on auction will be of interest to you. If you win an auction and notice another one ending 2 days later, of course I will allow you the extra 2 days, then I will combine everything into 1 shipment. However, lately I have noticed that some buyers are incapable of seeing the difference between unreasonable/reasonable. Below is an example of an unreasonable buyer:
1) A buyer wins 5 auctions at a deep discount2) I send an invoice with combined shipping @ $4.99 (it costs twice that to ship them)3) The buyer does not respond4) Two days later I send a second invoice5) The buyer still does not respond6) Two days later I open an Unpaid Item case7) A day later the buyer sends a message to inform me they are interested in some cards included in a batch of auctions I have ending over the next 3-5 days (NOTE: At this point it's already been a week since the buyer won the initial auctions and the buyer never acknowledged the UnPaid Item Case that I opened against them 3 days prior)
The problem with the above scenario is that the buyer assumes it is okay to postpone paying for his purchase on the grounds they are waiting for my auctions to end. I would be understanding if the buyer just won an auction and noticed another one ending 2, maybe 3 days later, but to not pay for a week and expect me to wait another 5 days on top of that is simply unreasonable. This buyer is also expecting me to ship them everything they will eventually win over a 2 week span at my capped rate of $4.99. In the end, the buyer gets to receive an assortment of very nice quality cards at a clearance price and they only have to pay a fraction of what it costs me to ship them. At that point, my profits are virtually zero, and to make matters worse I've had to spend time/energy sending multiple invoices, messages, and opening an UnPaid Item Case, all of which went completely unanswered. Finally, if I do anything short of catering to the buyers needs and demands, I risk the buyer threatening to leave me negative feedback.
While the above scenario is somewhat of an extreme example, situations like this actually occur far more frequently than most realize. I am a collector just like most of my buyers, but I don't think many of my buyers are aware of that. Whether they are aware or not, that still would not justify the irrational thinking/behavior I've had to deal with during my time on eBay. I've managed to maintain 100% positive feedback this entire time, but that is only because I have been too accommodating, but I can no longer afford to do that. eBay requires a level of time/sacrifice that I can no longer maintain, which is why I've began planning to close my eBay store very soon.
Selling cards on eBay stopped being fun a long time ago. It is a lot of work dealing with overly demanding, unreasonable, rude people, and it's really worn me down. I have met some wonderful people during my time selling cards on eBay, and my experience using this platform has given me newfound appreciation when I do have the opportunity to interact with kind, courteous, reasonable customers. I always initiate communication in a respectful manner, but many on this platform do not. It almost seems as though some people feel as though, by virtue of being a customer in a transaction, that a seller is somehow obligated to bend over backwards (even adjust their life) to meet the needs of a buyer. I guess when you participate in as many transaction as I do (over 2000 just last year alone), you're bound to run into some difficult people.
If you get nothing else out of this message, please know this:
If you cannot communicate without being rude, disparaging, extending the benefit of the doubt, being inconsiderate, overly demanding, unreasonable, or anything of the sort, then I would ask you to please spend your money elsewhere.
On the other hand, if you would like to purchase from someone who is willing to communicate openly, honestly, and with respect, then rest assured that you have found the right place.
