Here I have up for auction is a wonderful condition Stanley #444 dovetail plane made from 1912-1938 with 3 orig. marked cutters 3~7~20, 2 spurs and all parts appear to be correct on the plane. Retains all the thumb screws, two nice nickeled rods and three sections. I usually don't like to give guesses at the amount of plating remaining because of varied opinions but the most missing is on the main section on the top (see images), then there are some edges on a few portions that show so...me loss but nothing extremely serious and then a few incidental spots here and there but the images should give you a good idea as to the general condition of this plane. I try to take several images so you don't have any surprises should it be of interest. Please contact me if you have any doubts or issues that you want answered. I have only had 2 of these in 43 years and this one was found some time back in an old tool chest in Idaho. It is missing the 3/8 inch or #4 marked cutter. The orig. box is solid, does not have the lid, has a sliver missing on one of the slots where the lid slides but nothing so bad that another lid couldn't work on if you were to make another lid. The label is in tact but some is missing (see images). Overall this plane is in very good condition for a nickel plated plane. The missing cutter can be found on ebay occasionally. Very hard plane to find in any condition. The lucky winner to pay ship costs. Will gladly combine shipping costs on multiple purchases.
