Listing is for a nice oddball item! Hand-Signed Autograph by Ernie Banks on a 1980 MLB All Star Game postcard from LA Dodger Stadium with a stamp dated July 8th, 1980. Kind of a unique/cool piece. I do not know the history of it, but can only imagine this obtained at the all star game back in 1980 by a fan who all they had for him to sign was the All Star postcard! (I can't imagine someone would have Ernie sign on a dodger's postcard upside down later on in life). There is no...t authentication certification for this piece. I did not think the end value justified having it certified by a 3rd party company for the money it costs. I can't imagine if anyone was to fake an Ernie Banks auto that they would do it upside down on a dodgers post card though. Provides a certain assurance of credibility to the piece actually. The postcard does have some wear n tear. It is not the best presentation piece given that the auto is upside down and on Dodgers stationary, but it is very cool and nostalgic. An in-person auto probably obtained at the event back in 1980 and preserved for 39 years! Something to be said for that. I would say the post card is EX-Near Mint and the auto is bold and perfect.
