Original Description:
You are bidding on this Antique Circa 1910-1920 Goldsmith "Dog Ear" Style Football Helmet. It is Canvas Construction with Leather Ear Pads. Interior has about 3/8" of a felt-excelsior type padding. Canvas Exterior is in Great Shape as is the Leather. The lining or padding is in very good condition with a tear and a little missing material deep inside the interior. The chinstrap appears to be original and in very good condition. The Goldsmith Ink Stamp Logo is weakly printed or faded bu...t is certainly recognizable. There is also the numeral "29" to the right of the logo. This vintage football helmet is 100% original and has no repair or replacement pieces. This was found at a sale in Green Bay Packer country. The helmet measures 11" front to back while laying flat and about 9 1/2" from the crown to the bottom of the ear flap.
