Original Description:
A scarce mid-18th century Chelsea porcelain Red Anchor period circular dish with scalloped rim. It has been beautifully hand decorated in raised polychrome enamels with individual flowers and a larger spray of flowers including a large pink rose. The scalloped rim is highlighted in puce or brown coloured enamel.  It has a diameter of approximately 9 ins (229 mm) and has the red anchor mark on the back (1752 - 1756). The dish is in very good condition for its age, ie free from chip...s, cracks, repairs etc with just a 3/4" surface scratch to the glaze visible in picture 6, light utensil marks and other expected commensurate signs of age. A charming George II porcelain dish which would make a very welcome addition to anyone's collection.
