About the artist:PETER MAX (born Berlin, Germany 1937-) German-born American artist, Peter Max is best known for his colorful images across a wide variety of media. He is closely associated with both the rise of pop art and imagery reflective of the late 1960s and early 1970s.Peter lived in China, as a child, until his family moved to the United States. Trained at the Art Students League, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts, all in New York, Peter opened a design studio and created campaigns for fashion companies and worked as a graphic designer for books and posters, among other printed items. After closing his studio in 1964, Peter began creating his characteristic paintings and graphic prints, which he continues to produce to this day. A combination of Expressionism and Pop Art, his work is often dedicated to the country he has loved since his youth, and the Statue of Liberty and the American flag often feature prominently in his paintings. Max also cares passionately about the environment and human rights and has designed and dedicated paintings and posters to increase international awareness of these causes. One of the most widely help of contemporary artists, Peter has exhibited in over 40 international museums and over 50 galleries, worldwide. His artworks can be found in the permanent collections of leading museums, including MOMA, New York. Max has also been the official artist for many major events including, among others, the World Cup, the Grammy Awards, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Super Bowl._____CHECK MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR OTHER ART WORKS AND COLLECTIBLES.• WILL COMBINE SHIPPING ON PURCHASES.
